Best Health Reminder App in 2026: 6 Options Compared
The best health reminder app reminds you to take medicines and to check readings like blood pressure. MyTherapy is a strong free option for both. Cureva is best for families and caregivers: it adds missed dose and out of range alerts to family, health check in reminders and a doctor ready PDF.
Most people who search for a health reminder app want two things in one place: a nudge to take their medicines, and a nudge to check something, usually blood pressure, blood sugar or weight. Many apps do one well and the other barely. This roundup compares six apps on both jobs, with every competitor fact linked to the company's own site or store listing. We checked every listing on October 7, 2026. Apps change prices and features often, so confirm on the store page before you pay.
The short answer by situation
- Free, and reminds you about both pills and measurements: MyTherapy.
- Families looking after someone, with alerts when a dose is missed: Cureva.
- Many conditions, lots of charts: CareClinic.
- Broad features in the US: Medisafe.
- iPhone only, medicines only: Apple Health Medications.
- Free on Android with text alerts to family: Pillo.

How we chose
We scored each app on the two jobs a health reminder app has to do, then on what happens when a reminder is ignored:
- Medication reminders that persist, with a Taken or Skipped log.
- Reminders to measure, such as blood pressure, plus a place to log the reading.
- Follow through: does anyone else find out about a missed dose or a worrying reading?
- A record for the doctor that combines medicines and readings.
- Cost and availability in Canada and the US.
Only apps with a live listing on October 7, 2026 were included, and facts come from the companies themselves, not review sites. Where a company does not mention a feature, we wrote "Not listed" rather than guess. Cureva is our app; we rank it on the same criteria and note where others do better.
We also looked for Round Health and Dosecast, two well known pill reminders. When we checked Apple's US App Store on October 7, 2026, neither had a live listing we could open, so we left them out rather than describe an app you may not be able to download.
The 6 apps, and who each one suits
MyTherapy
Best for: a free app that reminds you about pills and measurements alike.
The MyTherapy website lists reminders for medications, measurements, appointments and symptom checks, plus tracking of blood sugar, blood pressure and weight, a dose log, refill alerts and a health report for your doctor. It is on iOS and Google Play and says it will remain free.
Watch out for: nothing on its homepage describes family or caregiver alerts.
CareClinic
Best for: people with several conditions who want everything charted.
CareClinic offers medication reminders, blood pressure and blood sugar trackers, symptom charts, health records and reports for providers. Its App Store listing mentions inviting caregivers and dependents and connecting Apple Health, Fitbit and Apple Watch. It runs on phones, tablets, Mac, Apple Watch and the web.
Watch out for: subscriptions are listed from $5.99 to $79.99, and reminders to take a measurement are not described on its homepage. Cureva vs CareClinic.
Cureva
Best for: families and caregivers who want medicines, readings and alerts in one place.
Cureva is a personal and family health companion. For health reminders it covers both jobs:
- Medication reminders that repeat at 5 and 10 minutes until the dose is logged, with a full screen alarm on Android and time sensitive notifications on iPhone. See medication reminders.
- Health check in reminders. Set a repeating reminder to check your blood pressure, blood sugar or weight: daily, every other day, weekly, monthly, every 3 or 6 months, or a custom interval. It arrives as a push notification when due, and you can also ask Eva to set one, for example "remind me to check my BP every 3 days".
- Vitals logging of blood pressure, blood sugar, weight and heart rate, entered in the Vitals screen or synced from Apple Health or Health Connect.
- Alerts that reach family. Missed doses and out of range readings send a push notification to linked caregivers who have permission. See caregiver alerts.
- A doctor ready PDF with adherence per medicine, blood pressure and glucose readings, symptoms and mood check ins, which you email to a saved doctor or share with a 72 hour link.
- A morning check in from Eva by your first name, FDA label interaction flags, and 23 languages.
Watch out for: Cureva is in early access: Android is on Google Play, iOS is coming to the App Store, and the waitlist is open at cureva.app/waitlist. Alerts to family are push notifications, not texts. Blood pressure you mention to Eva in chat is not added to the Vitals screen, so log readings there.
Medisafe
Best for: US users who want a long feature list.
The App Store listing lists medication reminders, interaction warnings, refill reminders, a shared family pillbox view, tracking of blood pressure, glucose, weight, pulse and temperature, and PDF report sharing. It is also on Google Play.
Watch out for: outside the US it is fully paid since January 1, 2026, according to its help centre, and reminders to take a measurement are not mentioned on the listing. Cureva vs Medisafe.
Apple Health Medications
Best for: iPhone users who mainly need medicine reminders.
Apple describes medication lists, dose reminders, a follow up if you have not logged a dose 30 minutes after the first alert, interaction information in the US, sharing medications with family through Health sharing, and a PDF export of your list.
Watch out for: its Medications guide does not describe reminders to check blood pressure, and it does not work on Android.
Pillo
Best for: free Android use with text messages to family.
Pillo says it is free and lists medication reminders, refill reminders, an FDA data interaction checker, SMS alerts to caregivers for missed doses, and tracking of blood pressure, glucose and weight.
Watch out for: iOS is a waitlist, and reminders to take a measurement are not described on its site. Cureva vs Pillo.
Why one app for both is worth it
High blood pressure is common: the CDC reports that 48.1% of US adults have it, and only 22.5% of those have it under control. People managing it often take daily medicines and are asked to check readings at home. Two separate apps means two sets of notifications, two logs and nothing that connects the dose you missed with the reading that followed. One app that does both gives you, and your doctor, a single picture. If blood pressure is your main focus, read our best blood pressure reminder app roundup and our guide to medication reminders for hypertension.
Ask your doctor how often to check
How often to measure, and what numbers should worry you, is a decision for your doctor. Set the reminder to match the plan they give you, not a schedule from an app.
